A muddy slope
An emerald mountain of lush jungle
Slipping and sliding
Five humans made of star dust
Of pain and beauty and love and sorrow
Bubbling water pouring steam over steep rocks
Engulfing the world in a veil of hot water droplets
Suspended through the air, and us
Five creatures made of star dust
Of pain and beauty and love and sorrow
The water burns our skin
Blooming red
But we welcome it, sink further in
Five bodies made of star dust
Of pain and beauty and love and sorrow
Treading back to a home away from home
Flitting butterflies and drizzling rain
Drunk on the beauty of life
Five mammals made of star dust
Of pain and beauty and love and sorrow
Diaphanous threads of light
Spinning across the world like a spider’s web
And us, caught right in the middle
Five beings made of star dust
Of pain and beauty and love and sorrow
*We were so grateful to have Auntie Megan, the fifth being in this piece, join us for our final week in Colombia!
